Overview:
Isopon P40 Fibreglass Body Filler (250ml) is a heavy-duty glass fibre reinforced polyester filler designed for repairing holes, rust damage and cracks in vehicle body panels. Manufactured by U-POL (Isopon), P40 contains short-strand fibreglass that provides excellent gap-filling strength and durability. Once cured it becomes water resistant, making it suitable for exterior automotive repairs and structural filling before finishing with standard polyester filler. This small tub version (P40/S – 250ml) is ideal for DIY mechanics, bodyshop repairs and restoration work.

Application & Usage Guide
Common applications include:
- Repairing holes in vehicle body panels
- Filling rust damage before repainting
- Reinforcing fibreglass, GRP and SMC repairs
- Structural filling before finishing with standard polyester filler
- Automotive bodywork repair and restoration
Compatible surfaces: Suitable for properly prepared bare steel, aluminium, original painted surfaces, fibreglass (GRP/SMC) and existing polyester body filler. Surfaces must be clean, degreased and abraded before application.
Usage instructions: Clean and degrease the repair area to remove dirt, grease and wax. Abrade the surface using suitable sandpaper (typically P80–P180 depending on substrate). Mix filler with BPO hardener according to temperature (~5% at 10°C, ~4% at 20°C, ~3% at 30°C) until uniform. Apply using a pressing action to reduce trapped air and allow the filler to cure.
Curing and sanding: Sandable after approximately 15–20 minutes at 20°C. Initial sanding: P80–P120. Final sanding: P180–P240. After sanding, the repair can be finished with standard polyester filler, primer and automotive paint systems.
